Watches with the blue dial/blue strap combo are still one of the hottest style trends in the watch world. Here we take a look at 25 of them, all released within the past few years. 1. Ressence Type 1² “Squared”
The Type 1² “Squared”, which Ressence unveiled at SIHH 2017, is a little bit different than other Ressence watches. For example, there’s its case material: The 41-mm case is made of stainless steel, while other models from the brand usually come in a platinum case. The shape of the watch is also different from other models — cushion-shaped instead of round. Typical for the watch is the Ressence moving dial system, powered by a mechanism on top of the automatic ETA 2824-2 movement.

3. Jaquet Droz SW Chrono
The 45-mm case of Jaquet Droz‘ SW Chrono, part of the brand’s sports watch collection, has a distinctive, notched bezel. The azure dial comes with a côtes de Genève pattern and thin white Roman numerals as well as a double-window big date display at 12 o-clock. 4. Frédérique Constant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture
Frédérique Constant introduced its manufacture moon-phase movement with the release of the Frédérique Constant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture. The watch, with a starting price of only $3,550, offers a single-crown adjustment system for setting the time, date and moon-phase. Among the five styles available is the model pictured above, with a navy blue dial and matching alligator strap in a stainless steel case.
5. Rolex Day-Date
Rolex launched a colorful lineup of Day-Date watches in five different color variations at Baselworld 2013. Among them was a model featuring a blue dial with sunray finish and a matching blue alligator strap. This blue-dial version of the Day-Date comes in an 18k white gold case, 36 mm in diameter.
6. Patek Philippe Ref. 5200 Gondolo 8 Days Day & Date Indication
The rectangular Patek Philippe Ref. 5200 Gondolo 8 Days, Day & Date Indication, as its name suggests, has a power reserve of eight days. The blue dial is accented by a spot of red on the last segment of the power reserve indicator.
7. A. Lange & Söhne Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite”
This A. Lange & Söhne Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite” features a very rare combination of a white gold case and a blue dial. The German-made watch was part of a limited edition of 200, only 19 of which came in white gold. At auctions, the Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite” ranks among the most sought-after A. Lange & Söhne models, usually fetching three to five times its original price.
8. Glashütte Original Sixties Panorama Date
The other German watch on our list, Glashütte Original‘s Sixties Panorama Date, comes in a 42-mm stainless steel case, with a midnight blue dial with a sunburst finish and a dark blue Louisiana alligator leather strap. The numerals of the date display appear on a background the same color as the blue dial.
9. Breitling Superocean 42
Breitling released a blue watch inspired by the summer, the Breitling Superocean 42, a divers’ watch water-resistant to a depth of 5,000 feet. The watch, a limited edition of 2,000 pieces, features a bezel covered in blue rubber in addition to its blue dial and blue rubber strap.
10. Louis Moinet Nelson Piquet
Louis Moinet celebrates the three-time Formula One world champion Nelson Piquet with this addition to its Legend collection, the Louis Moinet Nelson Piquet, a limited-edition two-pusher automatic chronograph. The dial features white numerals and counters against a navy blue backdrop, accompanied by a blue rubber strap. The white and blue colors are inspired by the colors of the F1 cars driven by Piquet throughout his career.
11. Omega DeVille Chronograph Co-Axial Calibre 9301
The Omega DeVille Chronograph Co-Axial Calibre 9301, a COSC-certified chronometer, features a two-zone blue dial with two domed subdials: the one at 3 o’clock displays both the 60-minute and 12-hour counters for the chronograph, while the one at 9 o’clock is for the running seconds. The model shown here comes in an 18k rose gold case, with rose gold hands and indices standing out against the blue dial.
12. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Perpetual Calendar Chronograph
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, a limited edition of 10 pieces, has a platinum case and a “grande tapisserie” pattern on the dial.
13. Piaget Altiplano Self-Winding
The Piaget Altiplano Self-Winding 43 mm is one of two special edition watches launched in 2017 for the 60th anniversary of the famous Altiplano. The Swiss brand calls the color of the dial “historical Piaget blue, a deep shade somewhere between cobalt and midnight blue.” The light-blue crosshair is inspired by vintage Piaget watches. 14. Harry Winston Project Z6 Blue Edition
Harry Winston‘s Project Z6 Blue Edition has a satin-brushed blue dial with overlapping displays for current time and alarm time. The case is made of a DLC-treated alloy called Zalium. The watch comes on a blue rubber strap.

Hublot‘s Big Bang Jeans Ceramic has a 41-mm black ceramic case and a dial made of blue-jeans denim. The strap is composed of bonded denim and black rubber.

Jeanrichard‘s Aquascope has a satin-finished stainless steel case with blue PVD coating and a blue rubber strap.
18. TAG Heuer 1887 Carrera Chronograph
TAG Heuer‘s 1887 Carrera Chronograph uses the manufacture 1887 automatic movement and comes on a navy alligator strap to match the dial.
19. Victorinox Maverick
The Victorinox Maverick has a blue lacquered bezel and case and comes on a rubber strap.
20. Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback
The Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback is equipped with an automatic column-wheel chronograph movement.
21. Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Flameante Blue Edition
Released at JCK 2014, the Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Flameante Blue Edition is a limited edition commemorating 10 years of Cuervo y Sobrinos watches in the U.S.A. “Flameante” refers to the decorative “flames” pattern on the watch’s Indigo Blue dial.
22. Meistersinger Salthora
Meistersinger, a German brand renowned for its single-hand watches, presented the Salthora model at Baselworld 2014. The center-mounted hand displays the minutes, while a jumping hour numeral, in a window at 12 o’clock, indicates the hour. Among the several dial-color options is the “sapphire blue” model pictured.
23. Ulysse Nardin Marine Regatta Chronograph
The Ulysse Nardin Marine Regatta Chronograph debuted at SIHH 2017. The highlight of this watch, which is also available with a beige-colored dial, is the bi-directional chronograph counter, which begins timing a regatta once the countdown is complete. You’ll find more details in this article.
24. F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu
The F.P. Journe Chronometre Bleu is the first F.P. Journe watch to use a case made of tantalum, a rare, dark gray, highly corrosion-resistant metal with blue overtones that is rarely used in watchmaking due to its high density and high fusion temperature. The mirror-polished dial, in blue chrome, harmonizes with the bluish shades of the 39-mm tantalum case, and features cream-colored Arabic numerals, F.P. Journe’s signature shaped hour and minute hands, and a guilloché small-seconds subdial. Like all F.P. Journe watches, it contains a movement made of solid gold, which is visible through a clear caseback.
25. Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Météorite Special Edition
The abyss blue dial of Parmigiani Fleurier‘s Tonda 1950 Météorite Special Edition is fashioned from a meteorite fragment. It’s cut by using a special process, developed from the Parmigiani watchmakers. The model was launched at SIHH 2017 and is available in either a titanium or rose gold case. You left out one of the most iconic and famous blue-faces of all time; the Tag Monaco, basic Calibre 11 on blue leather band.

From the fellow who introduced “Havana Tobacco Brown” Guilloche’ engraved dials and matching straps came the next hot color 5 years ago- Ocean Blue Guilloche’ engraved dials and matching Ocean Blue Prime Alligator, genuine Stingray and Ostrich Deployment buckled straps. Jean Marcel introduced over 16 models of the Ocean Blue collection. Ocean Blue was picked-up by most brands including the Swinese ones and is now a mainstay in the entire watch industry. I’m sort of surprised to see so many limited editions (that may not even be for sale anymore retail) when there are so many blue dialed watches that are not limited. That would have left a lot more room for some of the ones people mentioned, and one I was thinking of when I saw the title: the Nomos Worldtimer True Blue

Breitling has some beautiful blue dials – I have 3: Chrono Cockpit blue, Steelfish Chrono blackeye-blue and Chronomat 41 blackeye-blue dials. They are “cold” blue colors and simply beautiful. I simmply call this kinda blue “Breitling-blue”. There is another type of blue on the IWC Aquatimer ref. 376710/11, I think they call it midnight blue or navy blue? Maybe midnight blue. It is darker, warmer and also very nice. Maybe one day this will be my 4th blue dial watch if I find a nice pre-loved one…

Did I miss the Bulgari “Octo” in your list – it has a beautiful blue dial and strap, and the incredible case is breathtaking! Why didn’t you list prices next to each watch?
Sometimes a few of the major design creations are introduced by dedicated and very non-traditional true Fine Swiss brands that have not yet fallen prey to the perception that profit is everything and you MUST rely on Far Eastern stamped-out movement and case parts that cost almost nothing compared to Pure Swiss components. Jean Marcel is such a brand. They have led because they are driven to do things 1st and they only produce a “Limited Edition” of 300 pieces of each model and say they can introduce models with big risks because they will only produce 300 of it. They are willing to accept the risk. They did that when they introduced Havana Tobacco Brown Hand Guilloche” dials. The other brands said Brown dials don’t sell. Well, 3 years later, almost all brands had introduced BROWN dials into their assortments. The same happened when Jean Marcel followed Havana Tobacco brown with OCEAN BLUE but this time OCEAN BLUE was featured by most serious brands with-in 2 years of Jean Marcel. Because they only produce 300 of each model for Global sales, they are very targeted and are not driven to do tonnage. This is the same as most serious really 100% PURE Swiss brands were committed to 200 plus years ago. If you really want to see where Havana Tobacco Brown, followed by Ocean Blue guilloche’ dial collections were launched, checkout Jean Marcel line introductions from 5 years back until now. Sometimes being small and committed to doing things 1st can have collector benefits giant tonnage brands can’t afford the risk of making giant mistakes. Not sure when it was actually released compared to this article but I think the Girard-Perregaux 1966 blue dial in pink gold should certainly be on this list (if it was indeed updated). It is a stunning timepiece. From this list I really like the Omega DeVille and the GO.

A blue watch with blue strap goes great with many things. I have a brittling super ocean heritage, blue face with blue crocodile strap. This is absolutely one of my favorite summer time watches, it looks great with jeans an a polo shirt or a nice pair of shorts an a button front oxford. In fact I get more complements with that watch than I do with my rolex gmt master

As far as I can recall, A. Lange & Söhne Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite”, Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Flameante Blue Edition and Meistersinger Salthora – these three watches were not there in the old article posted during mid-2013.
As blue is my favourite colour I really enjoyed the write-up – both old as well as new.
This is an old post and perhaps the Oris Blue Diving watch wasn’t around then. It is a lovely watch, without a blue strap, but could be fitted with one.
Absent from the presentation are the IWC’s, Perpetual, Portuguese and Big Pilots, which introduced this hue to the Dial world a few years ago.
Couldn’t agree more. IWC, through their relationship with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation designates one model in their collection each year for a special blue dial presentation. It may be a Portofino, Portuguese, Pilot or Ingeniuer. In addition there are regular pieces in the line, Yacht Club, Portofino Hand Wound Eight Days and Pilot St. Exupery that feature blue dials. Omitting IWC? A serious oversight.

I agree, the Bremont looks good but unless the watch was strapped to the wing of a U2, it would in fact be subjected to the same temperature and pressure as the pilot. I’m not sure a U2 would reach 100,000 feet anyway.
