Union Glashütte Launches Belisar Chronograph Silvretta Classic 2024

Summer time, racing time: Union Glashütte launches a limited edition of the Belisar chronograph on the occasion of the Silvretta Classic, which takes place in Montafon, Austria from July 4 to 5. This year, the automatic chronograph is presented with a copper-brown dial whose sunburst finish creates a stunning play of light depending on the angle.

Reminiscent of the cars of the 1970s and ’80s and enhanced with Super-LumiNova for night-time visibility, this serves as a beautiful backdrop for the white totalizers, with the minute counter at 3 o’clock highlighting the first five minutes and the hour totalizer at 6 o’clock integrating a date indication. Adding to the functionality, there are also a tachymeter and pulsometer scales on the white flange.

Typical of the Belisar line, the case is made of 316L stainless steel with retro mushroom pushers, screwed-in sides and a slightly domed sapphire crystal. Measuring 44mm wide and 15.01 thick, it is water-resistant to 100 meters.

At the heart of the watch beats the UNG-27.S1. This self-winding movement is equipped with an anti-magnetic silicon balance spring and boasts an impressive power reserve of over 65 hours. Its intricate details can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.

Limited to 200 pieces, the Union Glashütte Belisar Chronograph Silvretta Classic 2024 is attached to a racing-style leather strap and retails for €3,450 or approximately $3,700 when converted to USD.

This design has it all. A brown sun ray dial and a rare pulsometer with some red accents. I almost didn’t catch the date window. That’s a great way to hide it.
