Striking the Ball: Oris Launches Father Time Limited Edition (With Live Photos)

Oris and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), a partner of the Swiss brand, collaborated on a limited edition bronze version of the Big Crown Pointer Date. In tune with this history-charged timepiece, the bronze case of the Father Time Limited Edition has a diameter of 40mm, a knurled bezel, a distinctive crown, and is equipped with a luminous dial inspired by the first Big Crown model that took to the skies in 1938.

The Arabic numerals and the hands, matching the color of the case, stand out against the white background. On the rehaut, the scale for the pointer date is located.

The caseback is crafted from stainless steel and tells the story of this watch: It is engraved with the figure of Father Time, which Sir Herbert Baker, the architect of the second Grand Stand, gifted to the MCC in 1926. This weather vane is made of cast iron, nearly a meter tall, and depicts Father Time holding a scythe, a cricket wicket, and a ball, symbolically serving as the guardian of time.

The limited edition watch, of which only 1,926 pieces will be made, houses the Oris 754 caliber based on a self-winding Sellita movement. It comes with both a light brown leather strap from Cervo Volante and a bronze metal bracelet. The package includes a tool for changing them.

Pricing is marked at approximately $3,100 when converted to USD.
