Jaeger-LeCoultre

Jaeger-LeCoultre (JLC) is a Swiss luxury watch company. Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded the 19th century. Since its launch Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmakers have created more 1,242 calibers with records such as the smallest movement, the most complicated watch, and a near-perpetual caliber.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has also registered more than 400 patents during the same time. Since 2000 Jaeger-LeCoultre belongs to the Richemont Group (Piaget, Panerai, Van Cleef, IWC). There are LeCoultre family records going back to the 16th century. After having invented a machine to cut watch pinions from steel in 1833, Antoine LeCoultre founded a small watchmaking office for high-end watches. The world’s most precise measuring instrument, the Millionomètre, was created soon thereafter in 1844. Antoine and his son, Elie LeCoultre, then started the Vallée de Joux’s first fully integrated manufacture, LeCoultre & Cie – a system that is the predecessor for most of today’s watch manufactures. Until the early 19302 LeCoultre & Cie. produced most of the movement blanks for Patek Philippe. Notable JLC inventions are the Jaeger-LeCoultre keyless watch, LeCoultre Calibre 145, Jaeger-LeCoultre Grandes complications. Among the historic watches are the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duoplan, Jaeger-LeCoultre Joaillerie 10, Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos, Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox, Geophysic. Notable JLC models include the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre Master, Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre, Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-vous, Jaeger-LeCoultre Amvox, Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos, Jaeger-LeCoultre Hybris Mechanica: Specific models that are very popular with collectors (for both Jaeger-LeCoultre men’s watches and Jaeger-LeCoultre women’s watches) are the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, or JLC Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control, or JLC Master Control, Jaeger-LeCoultre Mastercontrol Geographic, Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar.
