Citizen

Citizen is a corporate conglomerate based in Japan, founded in 1918 (named Sokosha Watch Research Institute). The name Citizen emerged when a Citizen pocket watch first was sold in 1924. Measured by total units produced Citizen ranks among the top watch companies worldwide. Notable brands include the Citizen Eco-Drive, Citizen Skyhawk, Citizen Independent Watches. The deployment clasp with a push button is available for many Citizen watches.

Citizen Donates $1.3 million to Japanese Disaster Relief

Citizen is donating $1.3 million to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster relief effort. Citizen Watch Company of America President Laurence Grunstein Retires

Citizen announced today that Citizen Watch Company of America, Inc. president Laurence Grunstein will retire effective April 15, 2011. Grunstein joined Citizen as USA president in 1985. Kobold Launches Program to Train Sherpas as Watchmakers

Kobold has announced a program in which its U.S.-based watchmakers will train a group of Sherpas in the art of watchmaking.
