Casio

Casio is a watch and electronics company based in Japan. Casio was founded in 1946 by the engineer Tadao Kashio. Famous for its sturdy and functional calculators Casio soon started producing watches, among them the extremely popular Casio calculator watch.

In 1983 the first Casio G-Shock watch hit market. In 1999 Casio sold the first GPS sensor watch, in 2000 Casio released the world’s first wrist watch with a camera, laying the foundation for smart watches. Since 200 Casio also produces small radio controlled solar powered watches. Today the most successful Casio brand is G-Shock with prices up to $1,000 or more for the high-end G-Shock models. Among the most requested watches are the Casio pathfinder, Casio edifice.
