This is a very good article but it does perpetuate the myth that a watch is magnetically protected by being in a Faraday cage.
This protects anything inside it from electromagnetic waves in the microwave to radio wavelengths. It can be made of any material that conducts electricity well, the best being copper or silver.
Such a cage would do nothing to protect against magnetic fields.
For this, the material must be strongly magnetisable so that any external magnetic field is confined to the shell and does not get inside. This limits its material to iron, nickel and cobalt plus some exotic very rare elements.
…although the sweep of the second hand has an unsightly stutter, this watch keeps excellent time and has a power reserve of 50+ hrs when fully charged.
I have owned one for about a year after Alexander Linz called his watch of the year. Mine is an excellent time keeper.
The Faraday cage will protect you from strong electric fields not magnetic fields. An example of a good magnetic shield is found in the IWC Mark XII made of a soft iron alloy.

This watch is simply fabulous, unfortunately I do not have this watch in my collection till date.
I hope I’ll be able to get this outstanding timepiece shortly for my watch collection.
