At last year’s SIHH, IWC launched a whopping 15 new Aquatimer models, and Cartier introduced its very first true dive watch, the Calibre de Cartier Diver. This year, at SIHH 2015, the dive watch pickings were rather slim in comparison. There were, to be fair, a few notable highlights:
Audemars Piguet introduced a white-dialed version of the Royal Oak Offshore Diver. Together with the regular black-dialed version, both watches are now equipped with a display back for the first time.
Cartier introduced a new version of the Cartier Calibre de Cartier Diver with a black DLC case.
Panerai extended its Luminor Submersible range with three new 47-mm models, consisting of two versions of the Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Titanio and, most notably, the Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech 3 Days Automatic (which you can read more about here ).

So, when it comes to new watches at SIHH suited for divers, Panerai seems to have lifted the trophy this year, although none of the Panerai watches mentioned above drew enough interest (from this consumer’s point of view) to immediately place an order with a retailer. (Panerai’s new limited-edition Mare Nostrum would qualify, if the price wasn’t an issue).
Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Offshore Diver, on the other hand, looks as great as any other Royal Oak Offshore Diver we have seen during the last five years, and we like the new Calibre de Cartier Diver, though we’d still prefer that it did not display yesterday’s and tomorrow’s date.
So, to be honest, we at DiveIntoWatches.com found the most impressive dive watches exhibited at SIHH 2015 among those that debuted last year — specifically, those pictured below.
